Cardinal Parolin: rise in US priestly vocations a sign of ‘great hope’

January 08, 2015

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, blessed a new 10-story building at the Pontifical North American College on January 6 and celebrated Mass there for the feast of the Epiphany.

Speaking about the increase in priestly vocations in the United States, he said, “I believe it is a good sign-- a sign of great hope,” according to the National Catholic Register.

The seminary’s rector, he added, “was telling me that this increase isn’t coming from all the regions, but the fact that so many young men are preparing for the priesthood is truly a cause of great joy.”
