In first, Egypt’s president attends Christmas Mass

January 08, 2015

Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has become the first Egyptian president to attend Christmas Mass.

As he entered the Coptic Orthodox cathedral in Cairo for his unannounced visit, those in attendance cheered, according to Al-Ahram, a leading Egyptian newspaper.

Sisi, who as defense minister played a leading role in the 2013 ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohammed Morsi from the presidency, has gained the support of the majority of the nation’s Christians.

This is wonderful news. How sad that right after that that two policemen assigned to protect Catholic worshipers were murdered.

Now that's a man of courage ! His example just might be the beginning of a first-ever Muslim introspection, something that would take many lifetimes to accomplish. Let's pray that he survives and his attitude bears fruit.
