Cologne cathedral to show displeasure with march against Muslim immigration

January 05, 2015

Cologne’s cathedral will turn off its lights on the evening of January 5 in a manifestation of displeasure at a protest march planned by Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West.

The organization “is made up of an astonishingly broad mix of people, ranging from those in the middle of society to racists and the extreme right-wing,” the cathedral’s dean told Reuters. “By switching off the floodlighting we want to make those on the march stop and think. It is a challenge: consider who you are marching alongside.”

Instead of protesting some of the people protesting Islam's taking over of Europe, a really significant gesture would be to turn out the floodlights every night to protest Europe's abandonment of its Catholic / Christian heritage.

Perhaps the acknowledged diversity of the "Patriotic Europeans" movement ought to make the cathedral authorities stop and consider who they're opposing!

Wasn't Cologne the home of many Crusaders? Wow, how times have changed.

Perhaps if the "lights out" signal had an explicit Catholic twist it might be more understandable. The origin of European culture is being occluded more every day by the Europeans themselves who no longer posit their Father God in their daily lives. Islam (which does not know God as "Father") is filling the secularized void left by so many of Europe's citizens. A secular society is not capable of mounting an intelligible response to Islam
