Pope calls refugees in Iraq, sends special Christmas greetings to Korea
December 26, 2014
On Christmas Eve, Pope Francis sent a video message to Catholics in Korea.
The Pontiff, who visited South Korea in August, said, “I pray the Lord that the light, shining on the world from the Baby of Bethlehem, might be always in your hearts, in your families and communities.”
Later, he telephoned a center for Iraqi Christian refugees in Kurdistan.
“You are like Jesus on the night of his birth, when he had been forced to flee,” he said. “You are like Jesus in this situation, and that means we are praying even harder for you.”
