Pope Francis has sent a message of greetings to the Nobel Prize laureates who have gathered in Rome this week.
The papal message—conveyed by Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Secretary of State, lauds “the commitment of the summit participants to promoting peace and fraternity among peoples, and for their efforts in finding solutions to the conflicts of our day.” The Pontiff promises his prayers for the success of the meeting.
The message quotes from the Pope’s message for the 2014 World Day of Peace: “In the heart of every man and woman is the desire for a full life, including that irrepressible longing for fraternity which draws us to fellowship with others and enables us to see them not as enemies or rivals but as brothers and sisters to be accepted and embraced.”
