People, not money, central to economic development, says Pope
November 21, 2014
In a video message to a festival devoted to Catholic social teaching, Pope Francis said that people, and not money, are central to economic development.
“Money alone does not create development,” he said. “To create development we need people who have the courage to take the initiative.”
Calling for a “rethinking our economic model and the world of work,” the Pope decried indifference to the poor and unemployed.
