Colombia: prelate laments breakdown in talks

Archbishop Luis Augusto Castro Quiroga, the head of the Colombian Episcopal Conference, has called upon the nation’s president to restart peace talks with Colombian rebels.
President Juan Manuel Santos suspended talks after rebels kidnapped a general.
The bishop of the diocese in which the general was abducted offered to serve as a mediator and called upon rebels to release all kidnap victims.
