November 04, 2014

A Vietnamese Catholic blogger has been indicted for “abuse of freedom and democracy” because he posted essays critical of the government.

Nguyen Huu Vinh could face up to seven years in prison, as could his assistant, Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy. Their indictment came only after they had been held in jail for six months without charges.
