Petition against planned speech by Gloria Steinem at Catholic college

October 30, 2014

Pro-family activists in Wisconsin have launched a petition asking St. Norbert College to cancel a lecture by the Gloria Steinem.

Steinem, the founder of Ms magazine and a veteran abortion advocate, is due to speak at the Catholic school in April. Advance publicity identifies here as a "spokeswoman on issues of equality."

Let's face it how many so-called Catholic colleges are in accord with the Church's teaching and what is a Catholic college contained in Ex Corde Ecclesiae. Sadly very view. So is it surprising then that sociological Catholic colleges become trojan horses in the body Catholic? This has been allowed to go on by Rome and the American bishops and will continue to go on unless Ex Corde is implemented and ecclesiastical penalties invoked.

I often wonder if there isn't some kind of behind-the-scenes competition among what are said to be Catholic schools for the most un-Catholic courses, speakers and either non-Catholic or CINO teachers and administrations. Concurrent to this are the bishops, who are responsible for the affairs in their diocese and the USCCB, ever so quick to talk about international and national things in which they're not experts at, but cannot seem to act against CINO schools and politicians, for that matter.

Surprise: St Norbert has a Women's & Gender Studies program. "Karlyn Crowley, director of women’s and gender studies and associate professor of English . . . has published “Feminism’s New Age: Gender, Appropriation, and the Afterlife of Essentialism,” exploring the relationship between feminism and New Age culture. In particular, the book looks at the New Age tokens and practices including crystals, Tarot and goddess worship, analyzing their appeal to women and their impact . . ." ~Headdesk~

"Spokeswoman on issues of equality"? Can we expect to see David Duke heading to St. Norbert soon? You know, as a "spokesman on issues of racial justice"?
