Jerusalem patriarch praises House of Commons for vote on recognition of Palestine

The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem has praised the House of Commons for its recent 274-12 vote that called upon the United Kingdom’s government to “recognize the state of Palestine alongside the state of Israel.”

“This about a people like any other, who has the right to live in peace, to have a homeland, a capital, a passport, its own stamps and currency,” said Patriarch Fouad Twal. “This can be a good example for other countries that are still reluctant,”

    Just another instance where the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem shows just how Palestinian he is and how much he hates Israel. The unfortunate thing is how many Catholics might listen to him.

    One thing for sure: If the Patriarch and the House of Commons have their (wrongheaded) way, one country WILL NOT live in peace, Israel. Fortunately, this cockamamie notion will go nowhere in the world outside meaningless parliamentary votes and meddling chanceries.
