Former Catholic parish bombed in Iraq

The US-led coalition fighting the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant has bombed a Syriac Catholic church in Bakhdida (Qaraqosh).

After the Islamic State took over the northern Iraqi town in August, the cross was removed from the church, and it became “a logistics base of the jihadists,” according to the Fides news agency.
