Bishops rue Supreme Court action on marriage

October 07, 2014

The chairmen of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth and Subcommittee for the Promotion and Defense of Marriage lamented the Supreme Court’s decision not to hear appeals of lower court decisions that mandated the legalization of same-sex marriage.

“Millions of Americans had looked to the Court with hope that these unjust judicial decisions might be reversed,” said Bishop Richard Malone and Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone. “The Supreme Court’s action fails to resolve immediately the injustice of marriage redefinition, and therefore should be of grave concern to our entire nation.”

The USCCB is showing the same mentality as the gay rights advocates in complaining about the Supreme Court's failure to rule "their way". The would really be upset about a premature ruling in an atmosphere of highly charged politics before all of the national impacts of homosexual marriage are known. The knee-jerk reaction by Bps. Malone and Cordileone clearly demonstrates the ineptitude of USCCB when dealing with national political issues.
