USCCB, CRS welcome US response to Ebola

September 26, 2014

The chairman of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on International Justice and Peace, joined by the president of Catholic Relief Service, welcomed the Obama administration’s expanded response to the Ebola virus disease and called for further action.

In a letter to National Security Advisor Susan Rice, Bishop Richard Pates and Carolyn Woo called upon the United States to take five further steps, including collaboration “with the Catholic Church and its affiliated health structures and other community-based organizations to develop public education programs to help halt the spread of the virus.”

Once again, the bishops of the Democrat Catholic Church appeal to "big brother" to do something to solve a serious public problem. Remember when the Church used to energize the faithful to take action when people needed help! The laity used to show the suffering the love of Christ by their care and concern. Now, the Church places its faith in secular government instead of in the people of God and the world's suffering people know little of Christ's love for them.
