Connecticut archdiocese asks high court to overturn law extending deadline for sex-abuse suits
September 22, 2014
Attorneys for the Archdiocese of Hartford, Connecticut, asked the state’s Supreme Court to set aside a $1 million sex-abuse judgment, in a hearing September 22.
The archdiocese has urged the court to overturn a new state law that extended the statute of limitations for sex-abuse lawsuits. Without that law, the plaintiff in this case would have been barred from pressing his suit.
