Cardinal George meets with music director fired for same-sex marriage plan

Cardinal Francis George met privately on September 9 with a man who had been dismissed from his post as a music director in a Catholic parish after he announced plans for a same-sex marriage.
Colin Collette reported that he had asked for a meeting with the cardinal, and received a quick positive response. "I was moved beyond words that he would meet with me," said Collette, noting that Cardinal George has been weakened by cancer treatments. He reported that he and the cardinal prayed together.
