Christian refugees in Pakistan recount Taliban horrors

September 04, 2014

Amid struggles between the Pakistani army and the Taliban for the control of the Pakistani region of North Waziristan, Christian refugees who have fled to Bannu, a city in a neighboring province, said that beheadings committed by the Taliban have become commonplace.

87 Christian refugee families are living in two Christian schools in Bannu.

“We have disposed hundreds of dead bodies dumped in bazaars-- all of them headless,” one Christian sweeper told Our Sunday Visitor. “Our women cannot step outside without a burqa. Beheadings are announced beforehand and also done publicly.”

“Nobody can snatch our Christian faith,” added another refugee, who had been kidnapped for nine days.
