Coptic Church will not endorse Egyptian political candidates, patriarch stresses

Coptic Orthodox Patriarch Tawadros II has warned clerics to avoid partisan political involvements as Egypt faces new elections later this year, the Fides news service reports.
The Egyptian prelate said that the faithful are encouraged to participate in the electoral process, but the Coptic hierarchy will not endorse candidates or political parties.
