Police in Phoenix, Arizona, have made an arrest in connection with the murder of one Catholic priest and severe beating of another.
Gary Michael Moran, a man with a history of violent crime, was taken into custody shortly before the funeral of Father Kenneth Walker, who was shot and killed at Mater Misericordiae mission on June 11. The pastor, Father Joseph Terra, remains hospitalized with serious wounds but is expected to recover.
Phoenix police had earlier said that they suspected the crime was committed by someone with a "violent nature" and a special animus against religious faith.
