Each sacramental confession is a Pentecost, says Vatican cardinal

Each celebration of the Sacrament of Penance is a Pentecost both for the confessor and the penitent, Cardinal Mauro Piacenza said in a letter on the occasion of Pentecost Sunday.
Every confession, said the head of the Apostolic Penitentiary, is “an always new experience of the Holy Spirit in action.” In the Sacrament of Penance, the priest is “profoundly united” to the Good Shepherd in “correcting, evaluating, and healing,” and particularly in pronouncing the words of absolution.
