Papal telegram following Colombian bus tragedy

May 20, 2014

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, has sent a message of condolence in the Pope’s name following a bus fire in Colombia that killed 32.

The Pope promised to pray for the repose of the soul of the victims and was “deeply distressed to learn the sad news of the serious accident in the town of Fundaciòn that caused so many victims, including many children,” the telegram noted.
