Swiss Guard adds 30 new recruits at 508th anniversary celebration

The Swiss Guard swore in 30 new members on May 6, as the corps celebrated its 508th anniversary.

Archbishop Giovanni Angelo Becciu, the sostituto or assistant Vatican Secretary of State, spoke to the new recruits on behalf of the Holy Father, encouraging them to uphold the proud tradition of the Swiss Guard.
