Focus on World Youth Day during Sunday Angelus address
April 14, 2014
In his brief Sunday Angelus address, delivered at the conclusion of Palm Sunday Mass in St. Peter's Square, Pope Francis greeted 250 World Youth Day delegates, and Brazilian youth consigned the World Youth Day cross to Polish youth.
In 2013, World Youth Day was held in Rio de Janeiro; in 2016, it will be held in Kraków.
Pope Francis noted that Blessed John Paul II, who started the World Youth Day gatherings, will be canonized on April 27 and will become the patron saint of World Youth Day.
