Priest murdered in Nicaragua, served in California parish
April 09, 2014
A Nicaraguan priest who ministered in California from 2008 to 2011 was murdered at his parish in Nicaragua.
Father Juan Francisco Blandón Meza, 42, was speaking with a woman who had come to him for guidance. Her husband then shot both of them before killing himself.
“Father Juan Francisco was killed due to the man’s psychological instability,” said Bishop Carlos Enrique Herrera Gutiérrez of Jinotego, according to a Fides report.
