Following a recent visit to the Vatican, members of a delegation of Philadelphia civic and business leaders are “confident” that Pope Francis will visit the city in September 2015 during the World Meeting of Families, the Philadelphia Daily News reported.
The World Meeting of Families' fundraising efforts have interfaith support: three of the five members of the executive leadership cabinet of the nonprofit organization raising funds for the gathering are Jewish.
“The religious consequence is not that important to me obviously, but what is important to me is the civic consequence,”" said Comcast executive David Cohen. “We'll be on the front page of every newspaper and television broadcast in the world. You don't get many opportunities like this.”
