Pennsylvania priest charged with embezzling $124,000 from parish

A priest of the Diocese of Greensburg has been arraigned on charges of stealing $124,000 from his parish between 2008 and 2011.

Father Emil Payer, 69, reportedly “drained funds from parish bank accounts, using the stolen money to pay credit card balances, to travel and to bolster a private tour business he operated,” the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported.
