The Vatican will issue special medals to commemorate the canonizations of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II.

The medals, which will be issued March 3, will feature profiles of the two Pontiffs on one side, and the coat of arms of Pope Francis on the other. They will be released through the Vatican’s Philatelic and Numismatic Office in advance of the canonization ceremony, which is scheduled for April 27.
