Religious discrimination suit filed against Iowa diocese

The former CFO of an Iowa diocesan school system has alleged in a religious-discrimination lawsuit that the Diocese of Sioux City terminated his position because he is not Catholic, the Sioux City Journal reported.
“We are familiar with [David] Newbrough's lawsuit and allegations, and we will vigorously defend ourselves in future proceedings,” the diocese’s communications director said in response.
