The prelate who governs the Church in Djibouti and Somalia welcomed a recent US military raid in Somalia.
During the unsuccessful raid, US Navy Seals attempted to capture a militant associated with the militant Islamist organization Al-Shabaab.
“Sometimes some strike is necessary,” Bishop Giorgio Bertin told Catholic News Service. “The strike was also recognized by the Somali government.”
“With criminals we have sometimes to react in the most appropriate way,” he added.
