Report: vandalism at parish where Pope Benedict was baptized

October 15, 2013

St. Oswald’s Church in Marktl am Inn, Bavaria – the parish where Pope Benedict XVI was baptized and offered his first Mass – was vandalized with spray paint during September, according to the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians, which documents anti-Christian incidents in Europe.

“A bust of the former Pope in front of the main entrance has been spray painted twice,” according to the Observatory. “In the first case the delinquent has been identified; the second case remains unclear.”
