Pope to visit Castel Gandalfo for feast of the Assumption
August 14, 2013
Pope Francis will visit Castel Gandalfo on August 15, to celebrate the feast of the Assumption there.
Although the Pope has chosen to remain in Rome during the summer, rather than staying at the papal summer residence, he will preserve a Vatican tradition by celebrating Mass for the residents of Castel Gandalfo.
The Pope will also visit a convent of Poor Clares, and the local parish of St. Thomas of Villanova, before returning to the Vatican. He will make the trip to and from Castel Gandalfo by helicopter.
