Scottish bishop appalled by abuse reports at boarding school

A Scottish bishop has issued a public apology for the abuse of students at a Catholic boarding school.

Bishop Hugh Gilbert of Aberdeen said that reports of abuse at Fort Augustus Abbey were “bitter, shaming and distressing.” He promised support for a police investigation.
