Christian families fleeing North Sinai

July 17, 2013

Following the murder of a Coptic Orthodox priest and a Coptic Christian shop owner, 100 Christian families have fled their homes in Arish, the capital of North Sinai, after they received death threats from Islamic militants.

“Currently, Coptic churches in northern Sinai have cancelled all services and meetings, except for a Mass on Friday,” AsiaNews reported. “No Christians are left in the towns of Rafah and Sheikh Zowayd.”
