House passes late-term abortion ban

June 19, 2013

In a 228-196 vote, the House of Representatives has passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would ban most abortions after the twentieth week of pregnancy.

The legislation “would unacceptably restrict women's health and reproductive rights and is an assault on a woman's right to choose,” the Obama administration countered. “Women should be able to make their own choices about their bodies and their health care, and Government should not inject itself into decisions best made between a woman and her doctor.”

One more partisan bill that will never see the light of day in the Senate. I'm tired of both parties using abortion as a political football!
