Pope encourages work to protect children from abuse

Pope Francis met on June 4 with Father Hans Zollner, the director of the Center for Child Protection at the Pontifical Gregorian University.

“This is important work,” the Pope told the German Jesuit; “Keep it up.”

The Center for Child Protection, founded in 2010, had just completed an international conference, sponsored by the US Catholic hierarchy and joined by the bishops of Sri Lanka, on producing global plans for safeguarding young people from abuse.
