After settling child-porn complaint, Kansas City diocese hit with two more lawsuits

May 22, 2013

Less than a week after the Diocese of Kansas City, Missouri, reached a $600,000 settlement with the family of a girl involved in a child-porn case against a local priest, two other lawsuits have been filed against the diocese, Bishop Robert Finn, and the accused priest.

Father Shawn Ratigan, who has entered a guilty plea to federal child-pornography charges, has not responded to any of the lawsuits. The plaintiffs charge that the bishop and the diocese aided him in collecting obscene photos of young children, violating their privacy.
