Colombian legislators reject same-sex marriage

Colombian lawmakers rejected a bid for legal recognition of same-sex marriage, with an overwhelming 51- 17 vote in the nation's Senate.
The decisive defeat came after several hours of debate. The Colombian bishops' conference had urged legislators to vote down the proposal.
