Chicago cardinal urges opposition to same-sex marriage

Chicago’s Cardinal Francis George, joined by his auxiliary bishops, has issued a letter urging opposition to a bill that could bring legal recognition to same-sex marriage in Illinois.
Saying that same-sex marriage is a “legal fiction,” the cardinal urged Chicago parishioners to contact their representatives, and press for defeat of the legislative proposal, which could face action this week.
"We will all have to pretend to accept something that is contrary to the common sense of the human race," if the law comes into force, Cardinal George warned. He added that those who continue to uphold a natural-law view of marriage could face legal penalties, and may be regarded as “the equivalent of bigots.”

The "legal fiction" Cardinal George is talking about is the result of a conflict between the civil (positive) law and the natural moral law, which is man/woman's participation of God's eternal law, the principles of which are implanted in his rational nature. Positive law is defined as an "ordinance of reason" created for the purpose of expressing these principles which because they are intrinsic to human nature are for our personal and collective good. To defy them is legal fiction.

Remember that the ultimate goal of these fascists is the destruction of the Catholic Church all over the world. They can't stand that we preach the truth: love is not what we define it as, but what God defines it as; and love does not come down to abusing others, even if they "consent," for selfish pleasure.
