German leader sees Christianity as 'most persecuted religion worldwide'

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said that Christianity is "the most persecuted religion worldwide."
Merkel made that statement as she argued that German foreign policy should be more sensitive to the concerns of Christian minorities in other lands. Her call for support for Christians drew a quick rebuke from the German Green Party, which said that other religious groups face greater dangers worldwide.
