Alleged son of Legion founder Maciel jailed on extortion charges

Jose Raul Gonzalez Lara, an alleged son of Legion of Christ founder Father Marcial Maciel (1920-2008), has been jailed in Mexico on aggravated extortion charges following a criminal complaint filed by the Legion.
A spokesman for the Legion previously alleged that Gonzalez was seeking $26 million from the Legion to purchase his silence.
