Several churches burned down in Tanzania’s capital
October 17, 2012
Tanzanian police have arrested 126 persons suspected of vandalizing and burning down several churches in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s capital.
While BBC reported that five churches had been burned down, a Tanzanian report placed the number of denominations affected at seven.
The churches were destroyed after a Christian teenager had urinated on a Qur’an. The 14-year-old’s action occurred after a Muslim friend told him he would become a snake if he did so.
