200 million victims of ‘gendercide’

Reviewing the new documentary film It’s a Girl!, Kyle Duncan writes that sex-selective abortions, according to United Nations statistics, have led to an estimated 200 million “missing” girls.

“Today more females have been aborted or killed than the combined total of all the genocides of the 20th century,” Duncan writes. “Hence, the practice of sex-selective abortions is now commonly being referred to a ‘gendercide’—the systematic elimination of a particular group of people—in this case, girls.”
