International Catholic film festival begins in Rome
July 03, 2012
The Mirabile Dictu International Catholic Film Festival is taking place in Rome from July 2-5.
The festival, sponsored by the Pontifical Council for Culture and the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, first took place in 2010. Previous winners of the best film award include Désobéir – Aristides de Sousa Mendes (2010) and Duns Scoto (2011).
“We are looking for something bigger than us, and God is the answer to that,” said Laura Marabini, the festival’s founder and director, as she spoke with Vatican Radio about the role of film in leading people to the faith.
