Pope asks more prayers, aid for Italian earthquake victims
June 25, 2012
As he concluded his Sunday Angelus audience on June 24, Pope Benedict XVI asked the faithful “to accompany me with their prayers” as he visits earthquake victims in Italy’s Emilia Romagna region on Tuesday.
The Pope expressed thanks for the support he receives for the papal charities, and said that he would be carrying out an aspect of that charitable work during his June 26 visit. “I would like this to be a sign of the solidarity of the entire Church,” he said.
