Egypt: Christians convicted, Muslims acquitted for 2011 violence

A dozen Christians have been sentenced to life imprisonment for their role in violence that took place in the north-central Egyptian city of Minya in April 2011. Eight Muslims were acquitted.
The Muslims had allegedly set fire to dozens of Christian homes; the Christians had reportedly shot at the attacking mob in self-defense.
