Legatus files suit to block contraceptive mandate

May 09, 2012

Legatus, the organization for American Catholic business executives, has filed suit against the Obama administration’s mandate requiring contraceptive coverage in health-care policies.

The Legatus suit, brought with the help fo the Thomas More Law Center, asks a federal court to block implementation of the mandate, saying that the requirement to fund contraceptive services violates the religious freedom of Catholic executives.

Legatus represents over 4,000 executives, who head more than 2,000 American corporations.
