King of Tonga visits Vatican

Pope Benedict XVI met on February 24 with King Siaosi Tupou V of Tonga.

The Vatican reported that the “cordial discussions” focused on the Church’s role and the overall situation in Tonga, a nation composed of islands in the South Pacific. After his session with the Holy Father, the king met with Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, the Secretary for Relations with States.
