Bills to allow same-sex marriage ready for Australian parliament

Four new proposals for legal recognition of same-sex marriage will be introduced in the Australian parliament next week, joining one proposal already pending before the Senate.
Sponsors of the legislation have shown some uncertainty about their prospects for success, and probably will not press for action on the legislation until later this year.
