Iraqi envoy: Christians are right to worry about 'Arab Spring' uprisings

September 27, 2011

Iraq’s ambassador to the Vatican argues that Christians in the Middle East have good reason to be skeptical about the “Arab Spring” rebellions.

The Christian minority in the region is righlty “alarmed” by the wave of uprisings, Habib Mohammed Hadi Sadr observes.

It is also only natural that Christians should mistrust these protests, fearing that they will be led by radical Islamic forces who want to seize power, based on the fact that they are more organized and have a greater, more effective ability to shuffle the cards. These are forces that have shed blood and desecrated Christian churches.
