University to pay $500,000 to Catholic student group following court decision

In the wake of an appellate court decision that ordered the University of Wisconsin not to discriminate against a Catholic student organization in funding student activities, the university will pay the Badger Catholic $496,500 for legal fees. The Supreme Court let stand the appellate court’s decision in March.

    I'll grant that an important point has been made with the University regarding religious-oriented student organizations, but who gets wealthy off this? The lawyers, it appears. $500k is not for 'pro bono' work.
