Swiss bishops apologize for insufficient action against apartheid

The Swiss episcopal conference has apologized for not doing more to combat apartheid in South Africa during the 1970s and 1980s. The apology follows the publication of a study that found that Swiss mission societies were “cautious” and “hesitant” in speaking out against the practice.
